Festivals

Code One agents have key roles in national and regional festivals such as The Great Escape, Peats Ridge Festival, Cronulla Spring Fair, Jazz & Shiraz and have worked on virtually every major music event in the country including Splendour In The Grass, Cockatoo Island Festival, Sunburnt Christmas and NYE at Bondi Beach, Homebake, Big Day Out, Olympic Live Sites (2000 Olympics), Glenworth Valley Festival, Sydney Cabaret Convention, Mobile Home and The East Coast Blues & Roots Festival.

Peats Ridge

We have some amazing things planned for this year which we will be revealing to you over the coming months. Initially we can reveal our transition to 100% composting toilets throughout the entire event (overwhelming feedback from last year was that people found the composting toilets enormously effective and were less than impressed with our flushing toilets). This has led us to investing heavily in Mr Hamish Skermer’s 'Natural Event' Composting Toilets, meaning from now on all toilets at the Festival will be composting. We are proud to say that we were the first Festival in NSW to use composting toilets and the first major festival in Australia to run entirely on renewable energy, a lead that we are now seeing being followed by many other events around the country. Bring on the change!

The Great Escape

Over three full days and nights The Great Escape '07 hosted bands, artists, food, disco bingo, the most rocking kebab shop known to man and a swag of very satisfied music lovers. In it's second year, the festival swelled to 10,000 patrons per day - enough for a truly excellent vicbe across it's 8 venues - but not so many that you have to cue forever for food, beers and toilets. The festival is situated at Newington Armoury, a former Navy arms storage facilty. The absolute river frontage required for barges full of torpedos is perfect for an arts festival, encompassing military and industrial chic with lush rolling fields perfect for camping. Although not a Code One event, Code One agent Steve Griffiths is the festival's creative director. Plans are already afoot for The Great Escape 2008, although organizers have decided to move the festival to later in the year than its former Easter time frame. 2008's event is scheduled for October 4th and 5th.
